Okay Libertarians… apparently we need to get something straight.

I’m annoyed that I have to talk about this with people whom I consider ideological compatriots. The only thing I can think of is Leftists have invaded the Libertarian Party. Maybe you all should consider some borders?

Anyway… on to what you should already know;

Ideologically, Us Libertarians Love the concept of ‘Open Borders’. Judging by the latest rhetoric from ‘leader’ of the Libertarian Party it appears Libertarians are all in agreement, to a point. It happens to be a very pointy point. A Sharp Pointy, Pointy Point. A Point best not fallen upon.

There can be no Libertarian type ‘Open Borders’ so long as there’s a Welfare State… ‘Safety Net’… or whatever Socialists want to call it to make the redistribution of wealth less offensive. Welcome to the United States of America.

So STFU.

First You permanently get rid of the Welfare State and then, and only then, can we talk about ‘Open Borders’.

Idiots.

You Must be Forced to Care.

(Originally posted 091914.  But now that we’ve graduated from Enterovirus to Measles… decided to revisit.)

There are Diseases in The World which Progressives believe have been left unaddressed by the Major World Powers.

The thinking goes that we, Lazy-Stupid-Spoiled Western Masses, simply don’t care if it doesn’t effect us. You can find evidence of this mindset within the fight against AIDS as well as other life threatening diseases…. Like Ebola.

And certain others such as the Enterovirus.

So how might a World Power (The United States) be motivated to address those sicknesses that have been Intentionally Ignored?

Import them.

Yes, that’s what I said…

Bring them here so We can experience them…  Some of us Die from them…  And All of us Fear them.

The contingency that subscribes to the idea we are ‘all citizens of the world’ is not beyond bringing sickness to our shores if it means we will devote our resources to fighting the illness’ we previously ignored.  In their mind, focusing on our own Problems First, while spending Energy on the Worlds Problems Second, is what makes America Terrible.  And they have anointed themselves ‘Enlightened’ Apostles of all that is Good and Just.  The Ends Justify the Means…

This leaves only one question.

How do you bring them here?

Simple.

Allow hundreds of thousands of people into the country without medical screening… all at once.  (All at once of course can mean over a period of a year or so when it comes to the grand scheme of things.)  Then disperse them at taxpayer expense throughout the country.

‘But this would never happen!’ you say…  I know you… and I know you’re saying it.

Well it’s happening, right now, as I tap this out.

The only real question left to the Left is ‘How do you make these new illnesses spread fast enough to completely refocus the National Energy onto defeating them?’

Make the people you let in be Children… unaccompanied and unsupervised… then send them all over the country and Force our public school system to absorb Them.

‘But Who, In Their Right Mind, would do this?!’ you ask…  I also know you’re asking that…

Good Question.  Who Would do this?

Because whoever it is, is doing it right now.

And those who enable the doing will tell you it’s only ‘fair’ that we devote our abilities to helping those We chose not to help in the past.  Whether we like the outcome of doing so or not.

It’s for the Greater Good of All the Citizens of the World.

Open Borders are Good!

or… An Open Letter to Libertarians.

Dear Fellow Libertarians,

You are being played.

Judging by some of the discussions I’ve read as of late, it has become clear you fail to understand many of our ideas are not severable.  Or some of you are intentionally misrepresenting yourselves… Ignorance or Evil will remain unknown.

The specific issue I’m tapping about is Open Borders.

It is true that Open Borders fit neatly into the Libertarian ideal of Free-Market Capitalism and Free Exchange between other countries of goods and labor.

It is also true that I personally view Open Borders as a strong Ideal which would be a vast improvement over the cumbersome and expensive immigration policy we currently have.

However…

Open Borders cannot exist as long as The Welfare State is in place.  Nor can Open Borders Exist as long as the Possibility of The Welfare State Exists.  The Libertarian Ideal of Open Borders and the Absence of The Welfare State are Non-Severable.

Indeed, the Free Travel of Individuals to and from this Exceptional Country is a fantastic idea.  But taxpayers do not exist to take care of you.  Quite the opposite, our obligation to you begins and ends with our not infringing upon your ability to work and by extension participate within the American Dream, which is to excel absent government interference as far as your skills and drive can take you at the expense of no other man.  If an individual finds this type of Personal Freedom and Liberty combined with Personal Responsibility overwhelming and impossible to accept, then They also possess the Right to apply their Freedom and Liberty to return, or relocate, to whatever beautiful part of the Earth, Solar System or Universe they came from or will have them.

That is the Libertarian Tenet.

So please, Libertarians, please do yourself a favor and cease to be lured into discussing one and not the other.

If you have not thought about this in these terms, then please do yourself, and us, a favor by ceasing to talk about Open Borders completely until you either brush up on your supposed Libertarian governing theory… or openly abandoning Libertarianism as the basis for your political philosophy.

Remember, Ideals are just that… Ideals.  We will not be removing the existence of, and subsequent possible reinstatement of, the Welfare State anytime soon.  And it is exactly the Breadth and Width of Redistribution of Wealth the Progressive Left has achieved in this country which prevents us from even talking about Amnesty or even Modification of the Current Crappy Immigration System.  Until Concrete steps, walls and barriers are made to Secure our Borders and Roll Back the Socialist Poison Pills occupying territory of Law in this Country, we are a long way from reaching many of our Ideals.  It remains a battle worth fighting…

But we cannot support Open Borders anytime soon.

Where in the World is Jenny McCarthy?

The Butcher and I have been exchanging some comments which led me to repost my letter to Jenny…

An Open Letter to Jenny McCarthy:  070914 11am

Dear Ms. McCarthy,

I have to confess that I’ve followed your work since the long ago days of burping on Live TV,  Playboy and Fart Jokes.  But I have paid particular attention to your efforts over the last decade to ‘protect’ children from inoculations which you have decided cause diseases such as, but not limited to, Autism, Asperger’s and Mental Retardation.  The energy you have put into your efforts cannot be described as anything less than remarkable.

Because of your success in convincing so many American parents to ‘save’ their children from inoculations I feel compelled to point something out.

As I type this letter hundreds of thousands of children who have arrived in the United States illegally are being inserted into our public school system all over the Nation.

Allow me to restate what I just tapped out;

Hundreds of Thousands of medically unscreened children, some who have already exhibited ailments ranging from Head Lice and Scabies to Measles and TB, are being absorbed into groups of un-inoculated children of parents who believe the things you decided were true.

For that matter, Ms. McCarthy, there may even be some of those same parents… and Teachers… who abide by your understanding and interpretation of medical science.

With that in mind it then becomes relevant that the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has seen it necessary to quietly install, and bolster existing, emergency response centers across the nation because of the influx of the aforementioned illegal, unscreened, sick children.

I was hoping to appeal to your sense of caring for others by asking you to create a Mailing Address which the above parents, teachers and soon to be infected children can send their thanks.  In addition I would hope you could find a vehicle, possibly those microphones and magazine pages you utilized to campaign for anti-inoculations, to let the public know where to send their letters of appreciation.

I have Complete Faith you will do the Right Thing.

KU Med Center says patient admitted for Ebola like symptoms Does Not Have Ebola… it’s probably just Typhoid.

Typhoid Fever

General Information

Typhoid fever is a life-threatening illness caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi. In the United States, it is estimated that approximately 5,700 cases occur annually.  Most cases (up to 75%) are acquired while traveling internationally. Typhoid fever is still common in the developing world, where it affects about 21.5 million persons each year.

Typhoid fever can be prevented and can usually be treated with antibiotics. If you are planning to travel outside the United States, you should know about typhoid fever and what steps you can take to protect yourself.

How is typhoid fever spread?

Salmonella Typhi lives only in humans. Persons with typhoid fever carry the bacteria in their bloodstream and intestinal tract. In addition, a small number of persons, called carriers, recover from typhoid fever but continue to carry the bacteria. Both ill persons and carriers shed Salmonella Typhi in their feces (stool).

You can get typhoid fever if you eat food or drink beverages that have been handled by a person who is shedding Salmonella Typhi or if sewage contaminated with Salmonella Typhi bacteria gets into the water you use for drinking or washing food. Therefore, typhoid fever is more common in areas of the world where handwashing is less frequent and water is likely to be contaminated with sewage.

Once Salmonella Typhi bacteria are eaten or drunk, they multiply and spread into the bloodstream. The body reacts with fever and other signs and symptoms.

Where in the world do you get typhoid fever?

Typhoid fever is common in most parts of the world except in industrialized regions such as the United States, Canada, western Europe, Australia, and Japan. Therefore, if you are traveling to the developing world, you should consider taking precautions. Over the past 10 years, travelers from the United States to Asia, Africa, and Latin America have been especially at risk.

How can you avoid typhoid fever?

Two basic actions can protect you from typhoid fever:

1. Avoid risky foods and drinks.
2. Get vaccinated against typhoid fever.

It may surprise you, but watching what you eat and drink when you travel is as important as being vaccinated. This is because the vaccines are not completely effective. Avoiding risky foods will also help protect you from other illnesses, including travelers’ diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, and hepatitis A.

“Boil it, cook it, peel it, or forget it”

• If you drink water, buy it bottled or bring it to a rolling boil for 1 minute before you drink it. Bottled carbonated water is safer than uncarbonated water.
• Ask for drinks without ice unless the ice is made from bottled or boiled water. Avoid popsicles and flavored ices that may have been made with contaminated water.
• Eat foods that have been thoroughly cooked and that are still hot and steaming.
• Avoid raw vegetables and fruits that cannot be peeled. Vegetables like lettuce are easily contaminated and are very hard to wash well.
• When you eat raw fruit or vegetables that can be peeled, peel them yourself. (Wash your hands with soap first.) Do not eat the peelings.
• Avoid foods and beverages from street vendors. It is difficult for food to be kept clean on the street, and many travelers get sick from food bought from street vendors.

Getting vaccinated

If you are traveling to a country where typhoid is common, you should consider being vaccinated against typhoid. Visit a doctor or travel clinic to discuss your vaccination options.

Remember that you will need to complete your vaccination at least 1-2 weeks (dependent upon vaccine type) before you travel so that the vaccine has time to take effect. Typhoid vaccines lose effectiveness after several years; if you were vaccinated in the past, check with your doctor to see if it is time for a booster vaccination. Taking antibiotics will not prevent typhoid fever; they only help treat it.

What are the signs and symptoms of typhoid fever?

Persons with typhoid fever usually have a sustained fever as high as 103° to 104° F (39° to 40° C). They may also feel weak, or have stomach pains, headache, or loss of appetite. In some cases, patients have a rash of flat, rose-colored spots. The only way to know for sure if an illness is typhoid fever is to have samples of stool or blood tested for the presence of Salmonella Typhi.

What do you do if you think you have typhoid fever?

If you have a high fever and feel very ill, see a doctor immediately. If you are traveling in a foreign country, you can usually call the U.S. consulate for a list of recommended doctors.

Typhoid fever is treated with antibiotics. Resistance to multiple antibiotics is increasing among Salmonella that cause typhoid fever. Reduced susceptibility to fluoroquinolones (e.g., ciprofloxacin) and the emergence of multidrug-resistance has complicated treatment of infections, especially those acquired in South Asia. Antibiotic susceptibility testing may help guide appropriate therapy. Choices for antibiotic therapy include fluoroquinolones (for susceptible infections), ceftriaxone, and azithromycin. Persons who do not get treatment may continue to have fever for weeks or months, and as many as 20% may die from complications of the infection.

Typhoid fever’s danger doesn’t end when symptoms disappear

Even if your symptoms seem to go away, you may still be carrying Salmonella Typhi. If so, the illness could return, or you could pass the disease to other people. In fact, if you work at a job where you handle food or care for small children, you may be barred legally from going back to work until a doctor has determined that you no longer carry any typhoid bacteria.

If you are being treated for typhoid fever, it is important to do the following:

Keep taking the prescribed antibiotics for as long as the doctor has asked you to take them.

Wash your hands carefully with soap and water after using the bathroom, and do not prepare or serve food for other people. This will lower the chance that you will pass the infection on to someone else.

Have your doctor perform a series of stool cultures to ensure that no Salmonella Typhi bacteria remain in your body.

Ummm…. Probably just a ‘Normal’ case.  And Securing our Borders would have no effect one way or the other.

Suspected Ebola Infected are Being Released from Hospitals

This Morning a Hospital in Santa Fe New Mexico released a patient who was exhibiting symptoms of EBOLA.

The reason given for this was the Individual had not traveled, nor been in contact with anyone who had traveled to West Africa (As far as they knew.).

That was the Only Reason given for their release.

Well, no worries then.

Although this assumes one must have traveled to, or been in contact with someone who had traveled to, West Africa recently.

Thus this assumes no intent regarding the spread of this virus or any one of the Hemorrhagic variants.

This assumes Bad Guys, like the myriad of Terrorist A-Holes, are not actively working to kill us. Or… they’re not trying to simply overwhelm our Medical System and/or create General Panic here on US soil.

I am of the camp that Panic is futile. But Concern tempered with a little Fear has no downside.

I also believe that there are people out there who want us dead for no other reason than we are currently not so.

So I ask…

Wouldn’t Prudence dictate that individuals infected with anything close to this disease be watched a little more closely and at least quarantined for the couple of weeks necessary to see what happens? Couldn’t this be set up somewhere outside of the hospital? Make it fun even? Somehow I suspect one’s employer would approve of a couple of weeks AWAY from work to be stationed in a hotel in which you can not leave because YOU MIGHT HAVE A RAPIDLY FATAL COMMUNICABLE DISEASE which Health Professionals are now suspecting is ready to ‘Go Airborne’.

Or may be not.

We all know Rich, Greedy, Self Absorbed Leaders don’t care about those under them. And since they’re always on the Golf Course… they’ll never get it.  And clearly They don’t… get it.

Just a thought.

Oh… and the Borders are still Open with Floods of Medically Unscreened Illegal Immigrants arriving here by the minute. And Children are Dying as I tap this out from the highly communicable disease Enterovirus D68.

Oh… and for some reason this Administration will not decouple Arriving and Departing flights in order to restrict ARRIVING flights from West Africa.  In other words, the idea of allowing the best and brightest Medical Folks to go for the moment, with the understanding they don’t get to come back for a while, is completely out of the question.

It seems to me, just like defending our Diplomats Overseas, all of this appears to have never before been thought about by this current group of Ostriches occupying the highest offices.

As a Reminder,

The country is 238 years old… We have been dealing with Ebola since it was classified in 1976. We have experienced pandemics like the Spanish Flu 100-years ago which killed over 675,000 Americans. And, just like leaving our Diplomats to Die in Benghazi, it’s like we’ve never encountered such dangers and we’re learning as we go.

The Official position to everything over the last 6-years has been “Who knew it could get this Bad?”

I guess you can’t blame them if this is all new.  How Could they know?  Right?

So never mind.

Cheer up, If it goes South it will be your fault.

Think Ebola

Why would “Think Ebola” be appropriate for Health Care Facilities Nation Wide, but not for the General Public?

So, in other words, if you work in a hospital you should be thinking about Ebola.

And if you don’t work in a hospital… no worries.  You’ll be fine as long as you don’t think about Ebola.

If there has ever been an illustration of how Government cannot handle a crisis, this is it.

And I haven’t started on a very real Killer which is approaching epidemic levels called the Enterovirus D68. It’s here and it’s already killed 6… 4 of which were young children.

You must ask “Why?”.

I offer that ramping up the level of concern being experienced by the American Public will lead to obvious questions the current Administration and Political Party in Charge do not want asked.

Such as:

Why have we not secured the borders and continue to allow medically unscreened illegal immigrants into the United States and then fly them where ever they wish while placing the children into public schools across the nation?

Or,

Why have we not simply stopped incoming flights from West Africa?

Or,

Do you think the Terrorist’s are watching this?

And then come the profoundly enlightening if not horribly uncomfortable answers:

The Democrat Party refuses to secure the borders because the future of Socialism in America depends on a brand new class of taxpayer-funded welfare addicts who will always vote for them… damn the health consequences.

The Administration does not want to do anything which could be positioned as ‘racist’, which stopping those who are traveling from West Africa might imply.  But the most obvious result of stopping those flights would be to lead all of us immediately back to the first question regarding our borders, and that cannot be allowed to happen… damn the health consequences.

And, of course the Terrorists are watching… and learning. We are doing nothing because it’s not in the best interest of those who want to control us.

Damn all of the Consequences.

Democrat Rep. Janice Hahn spreads myth about Statue of Liberty to defend open borders

Rep. Janice Hahn, D-Calif., is upset that the House passed two measures to speed up the deportation of Central Americans who illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border.

In the tweet at the top of this post, she claims that the U.S. has abandoned a “promise” that was etched onto the Statue of Liberty. She’s talking about the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus, which has come to symbolize the Statue of Liberty even though that was not the intent of those who built the statue.

As Roberto Suro, a professor at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication, noted in 2009, France gave the Statue of Liberty to the U.S. to commemorate the Revolutionary War. Those of you who learned history before the advent of Common Core may recall that France assisted the colonies in that war, and that the American Revolution served as an inspiration for the French Revolution. At the time, France’s gift had nothing to do with allowing Honduran gangbangers to enter the country illegally.

The bronze plaque with Lazarus’ poem was a gift from Georgina Schuyler, a New York philanthropist. It was installed inside a stairway within the pedestal beneath the statue itself in 1903, almost two decades after the statue opened. As Suro notes, “There was no ceremony when it was placed on a stairway landing inside the pedestal. For decades it went largely unnoticed, a memorial to a writer and reformer who died young rather than a defining inscription for the statue.”

Who decided to install the Lazarus plaque? Congress? The President? No. The War Department had authority over the statue between 1901 and 1932. The decision to install the poem in the statue’s pedestal was not a “promise” that “we as a nation” made. Rather, it was a decision made by an unknown War Department bureaucrat who neither spoke for the American people nor had any authority over U.S. immigration policy.

Do you think the racists at La Raza give a crap about what the Statue of Liberty stands for?  Does Emma say anything about Reconquista?

Clearly the Progressive Socialists do not.  At least not Democrat Socialists like Janice Hahn.

Just Appear to Care

After Listening to Rep. Renee Ellmers’, a TEA Party candidate when she Won her Seat, go above and beyond to defend Amnesty for Illegal Aliens it caused me to think a little bit more about this issue and a much, much Larger One.

First, The push back Ellmers received should be a wake-up call for all those who courted, and received, TEA Party support when winning their seats.

Just because you ran and won as a TEA Party Candidate does Not Mean You Get a Pass when it comes to representing those who voted for you.  This is a NEW DAY in politics.  You should expect to be Held Accountable for your Actions once in office.  I realize this concept is completely foreign to the modern political class, but how did Nancy Pelosi put it?  Oh, right… “Embrace the Suck”.

It is long past due to put “Representative” back into Representative Republic.  And that Folks is Why the TEA Party is Hated by every Democrat and 80% of the Current Republican Party.

Second, I have tapped about this in the past.  Le Gran Mentira goes a long way to explain our Relationship with Mexico as well as Is Mexico Responsible for Anything?.

So I’ll leave that alone and you can read those by clicking on the links… if you care.

But there seems to be some Additional Confusion being suffered by those Republicans who are currently supporting Amnesty… or whatever name they are giving it so they can avoid calling it what it is.

It is no secret that the various Chambers of Commerce nationwide tend to represent Small and Medium Business’.  And, it should go without saying that they are logically “pro-business”.  At least one would Hope unless something has Changed.

So one might ask, Why when unemployment is Extremely High (gaming of the unemployment numbers can’t even provide a good rate at this point) would the various Chamber’s want to import 20 Million New Workers into the U.S and hand them Citizenship with all its commiserate rights?

Well here’s why…

These Business Owners live under the illusion that a large immigrant population here “legally” will be working for the low wages the illegal workers are working for now.

This leap of logic is beyond comprehension, but that’s what’s driving this push from the Chamber’s, and the Small and Medium Businesses, who support this push.

It’s Ignorance on a Profound level.

(Do you remember in grade school when you had mastered addition?  When 2+2=4 became easy?  When suddenly your teacher gave you problems that had more than one number in them… so 2+2+9=?… and you thought it was really hard?  Too many of us never quite got past that way of thinking and never learned to solve those problems. (It’s 12 by the way.  I got the problem from a Common Core math assignment.  But don’t worry, You get partial credit for just trying.)  Experience has taught me you don’t have to be smart to own a business… this may just be more proof.)

The only result of allowing a huge influx of what can only be considered citizens into the United States is an explosion of Union Members as well as new Leftist Voters.  That’s it.

Well, that’s not quite “it”.  There will also be an Explosion of new Welfare Recipients…

…which is why as a Libertarian Type I stray from the Doctrine and do Not support Open Borders.  The Poison Pill of Entitlement’s for those who do not work or Overburden Society by being rewarded for mortgaging other people’s productivity destroys the opportunity to throw the borders open to all who want to come and go at their leisure.  The fact our safety net has become a Day Care prevents us from exploring what would otherwise be a terrific chapter in our history.

Also take into account, We Already have illegals Voting in Elections across the U.S.  We already have illegals taking Welfare from this country.

Can we afford to elect More People who will simply accelerate this?  Can we afford to support legislation that promotes this because we were never good a math and it just sounds so nice?

Because that’s what we’re doing.

But all of this brings us to a much larger Issue.

If there is any doubt left in your mind that the Establishment Republicans and the Democrats are the same, makeaneffort at reason.

Amnesty:  Supported by Democrats.  Supported by Establishment Republicans.

IRS Targeting:  Supported by Democrats.  Becoming clear it is also Supported by Establishment Republicans.

NSA Domestic Spying:  Supported by Establishment Republicans.  Becoming clear it is also Supported by Democrats… so long as it doesn’t happen to them.  Right Diane Feinstein?

Obama Care:  Supported by Democrats.  Supported by Establishment Republicans.  (This Alone should serve as a warning.  Obama Care is the single most destructive Legislation we have seen in most of our lifetimes.  You can’t “Fix” Stupid.  It the ACA is Stupid.)

Spending us into Oblivion:  Supported by Democrats.  Supported by Establishment Republicans.

Militarizing DHS:  Supported by Establishment Republicans.  Supported by Democrats.

Government Enforced Wage Rates:  Supported by Democrats.  Becoming clear they are also Supported by Establishment Republicans.

What should you take away from this?

Both Political Parties have become so accustomed needing only the Appearance of Caring in order to get Elected that all connection to our Founding Ideology has been severed.  Now the only philosophy which remains is Socialism… on all sides… or rather, just one side.

It’s time for the Political Revolution we are witnessing right before our eyes.

The fact we take it seriously is reflected in our holding people like Ryan and Ellmers’ feet to the fire.

The Waiting is Over.

It’s Happening Now.

Call it the TEA Party Revolution, call it the “We Can’t Take it Anymore! Revolution”, call it Whatever you Want, just…

Get on Board.

Wanting to Smoke Pot…

… legally does not make you a Libertarian.

Thinking Gay Marriage approved by the government is the Right idea… does not make you a Libertarian. (Actually, I would offer that it disqualifies you. If you think begging some government bureaucrat to validate your marriage, gay… straight or otherwise, is how it should be then you are certainly not a Libertarian.)

If you believe there should be open borders, only for the United States, which many of you do if you think clearly about what you think you’re thinking… it does not make you a Libertarian.

Let me help here.

While all the above can be part, reasoned rationally, of being a Libertarian,

The first step, the very first step, is being a Free-Market Capitalist.

If you don’t think so, or more likely you don’t know what a Capitalist is except what your friendly Closet Socialist Comedian has told you, then its high time you learn.

Most of you will not do this.

You will not do this because it requires time and effort on your part.  Understanding the meaning of stuff also requires reading, unfortunately the odds are you went to government schools and are Functionally Illiterate so you will not do that either.

Instead, you will continue to allow other people who know what it means, and want to make sure you never learn, tell you what they want you to think it means.

Or better yet, you’ll ask your friends who are equally uninformed explain to you what it means… and you’ll go with that.

Whatever you choose to do, all I’m asking is…

Please stop calling yourself something of which you have no comprehension of its meaning.

Figure your Shit out before playing with the rest of us.

Trust me, it’s worth it.

And the rest of us will thank you… because we want you to play.
