Who Knew?

Not a day goes by that I don’t learn something.

Today Hillary Clinton taught me, in her words, “It is left to Government Employees to determine what is government related and what is personal”.

I did not know that.

I expect this will also be news to Edward Snowden and Miss Manning… among others… but I digress.

So this afternoon, we were educated in how the Federal Government handles classified and government related e-mail correspondence.

They leave it to the Employee to decide.

While I must admit it is rare, if ever, I find a Government Policy to make things more efficient… I have to concede, this would be one.

Brilliant in its simplicity, this policy may be the first to genuinely streamline what would otherwise be considered crushing levels of redundant bureaucracy.

We also learned this afternoon that this policy extends to Cyber Security as well.

Again, I have to admit that much of the Cyber stuff is way over my head, like Firmware hacking such as Greyfish or various other Cyber Espionage and Cyber Warfare spyware.

But clearly… the State Department has made sure that all of their employees are capable of safeguarding their own, personally installed in their home, Servers. I can’t even imagine the hours of instruction and levels of knowledge one would have to individually possess in order to create such system. Good thing it’s Mrs. Clinton and not one of us Stupid people doing this type of complicated IT work.

So there you have it. There is nothing to see here… and besides, other people have done it so it’s okay anyway.

What?

Other Government Employees have not installed their own personal servers at their homes to handle all of their official, and some unoffical, e-mail correspondence?

Well… then… it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy just like when all those Republicans accused Bill Clinton of having sex with that one girl when he didn’t.

What?

He did? Well… everyone else was doing it too. And besides, it was just very, very, very heavy petting… which it not sex.  Nope.  Not sex.

Huh?

The whole thing was actually about sexual harassment, law Clinton himself championed, and there were over 20 women who had come forward regarding his errant sexual behavior, some even accusing him of rape? And then he lied about it under oath and lost his law license?!

Whatever!  Shut up!  Haliburton!  Bush Lied!  Dick Cheney!

I apologize, for that. My wife talks to me over my shoulder when I tap.

Finally, what we learned today is it’s nobodies business what’s on your personal, totally secure, server at your home.

The NSA learned something from Mrs. Clinton today as well…

She’s very Smart.  And Honest.  We’d be Lucky to have her as President.

By the way, who got fired for leaking the name of our top covert operator in Afghanistan? Oh, and the DOJ is pretty screwed up… and that IRS thing… BATFE up-arming Mexican Drug Cartels seems like it should be looked at… Diplomats left to die in Africa… NSA Domestic Spying… Voter Fraud and Intimidation allowed by the FEC… ICE allowing illegal aliens, and possibly terrorists, to flood across our borders…  Watching trusted financial Gurus almost puke this morning when trying to explain that the inflation rate rising to 1.6% so quickly does not mean we could be headed for hyper-inflation…  Climate Data falsification justifying the sending of U.S. taxpayer funds to Socialist Dictators and Thugs around the world in the name of saving the planet…  etc… etc…

When in Trouble, Blame Congress.

If you’re a Secretary of State, and you know your answers will not play well… with anyone. You can always blame Congress.
The line from Secretary Clinton is that Congress killed Ambassador Stephens and the men trying to come to his aid by denying “funds” for State Dept. expenditures.

While this is a “too clever by half” approach to handling a Congressional Inquiry… it’s the other missing half that matters.

Did Congress embargo the truth? In other words, was it Congress that was responsible for the State Department making up inane reasons for the “spontaneous attack” that occurred in Benghazi and then feeding it to the American People?

Was it Congress that hung our Ambassador out to be killed? In other words, if the excuse now being offered is that Congress was not giving enough taxpayer dollars to the State Department to defend our Diplomats… then why was the State Department putting them in harm’s way? If the State Department doesn’t have enough money to defend our diplomats why are you sending them there?  Could Ambassador Stephens been loaned your security detail Madame Secretary?  Could we have sent one of the myriad Armed Defense Department Drones actively flying five minutes away to aid in the defense against this ultimately successful 9/11 assassination attempt?  Is it not an indictment of the Secretary of State that she was sending our “best and brightest” into places where she could not guarantee their safety?

“I never saw security requests for Benghazi.” – Secretary Clinton.  Then Congressional funding is not relevant.

So which is it?

The attempt to blame Congress for this is juvenile. Nothing about the Benghazi attack was unprecedented, nor unexpected. The complex had been repeatedly attacked over recent months leading up to the September 11th debacle.

If there is nothing to fear here, and the lack of security was not by design to show how “nice” we are… then release the e-mail exchanges surrounding this matter in their entirety without redaction.

Bad people do bad things. I’m willing to focus my ire upon the Terrorist A-holes that committed the act, but I will not ignore the apparent fact we put people in harm’s way and left them there to die.

As I sit here and watch this live, is there really any part of this… any version of events, yours or anyone else’s, that merits laughter?  Even a smirk… the smirk you are currently wearing?  Is there something funny about this that we are missing?
