“The European Model”

Unfortunately Not the European Model we will be Talking About.

It’s difficult to think up a good conspiracy theory anymore.
Just when I have crafted something particularly devious and sinister then sugar coat it with ‘best intentions’ so it goes down the throats of “have a go” commenters…
It turns out to be, well, True.
What is an Drunken Evil Genius supposed to do when all of his work is being pre-empted by cheap HB-1 Visa holders in Silicon Valley?

Alas, one of my favorites sites alerted me to a Google Presentation on Good Censorship.

Let me qualify first that I’m a free market kind of guy. I’m more Libertarian than anything else and will often side with the Dregs and Deplorables of our Republic.  What I’m about to point out does not mean I think regulation is a viable answer… but it does mean I find removing every penny of my tax dollars from the hands of private companies should be on every table.  Enough of that.

After pouring a stout cup of Cafe Bustelo (It should always be Strong, Black, Burnt and Bitter like my Women) I began going through the ‘leaked’ presentation.

It was Horrifying.  I had to add another shot of bourbon to my coffee.

We have talked about Conspiracy Theories here in the past.  This overt move by Google is astonishing… and as we have seen over the last decade with other supposed ‘tin foil hat’ stuff… now provable.

What struck me was not the idea Google was ‘editing’, but rather the idea they found brilliance in what they described as “The European Model”.

In essence, the Presentation offers that the United States pursues Freedom and Liberty which allows horrible things to happen.  In other words, Freedom and Liberty allow for things to happen that the majority of Leftists over at Google don’t like or agree with.

Instead, they propose – and are moving on, ‘Freedom must be Sacrificed for Civility’ and ‘Liberty must be Sacrificed for Dignity’.

Holy Carp!

The folks at Google don’t like the whole Freedom thing because it can’t be controlled… BY DEFINITION.  Stupid Freedom gets in the way of Forcing America into the ‘United World Union of Democratic Socialist Utopians’ – UWUDSU (pronounced ‘you-wood-sue’).  Sorry… it’s that extra shot in my coffee.  Anyway…

How can this be?  Real People can’t truly believe that Socialism works…

Well, I’m not sure how much more evidence you need.  There are basically two types of ‘Real People’ at play here.  The first group is too ignorant or delusional, intentionally or unintentionally, to know the Poison of Socialism.  They, of course, consider themselves members of next group…  (That is until the next group actually secures full control over things.  Then the first group’s lack of membership is made clear often with Starvation, Jail Cells, quickly dug Trenches etc.)

Regarding the second Group, it has been experienced throughout the history of mankind that certain groups of individuals will believe themselves to be anointed philosopher kings and will charge themselves with ‘protecting’ the rest of us from… ourselves.  (Enter Google who is busy giving voice to the Elitist A-Hole position that the unwashed cannot be given the responsibility to determine what is Civil and what is Dignified on their own.)

As we have stated before, an Elitist looks at you and says:

“When you are presented with a decision the only thing we can count on you doing is making the wrong one.” – Elitist A-Hole

This is why they secure positions of power via election, censorship or arms to make sure they can make it for you.

In their minds you should be Thanking them, seriously.  They think you should be writing them Thank You cards… and, of course, paying them lots and lots of your tax payer dollars.

But let’s place the Elitist A-holes on the sideline for a moment and talk about the idea of a “European Model” the United States is supposed to longingly emulate.

The European Model is one of Monarchy, Imperialism, Colonialism, War, Oppression, Slavery, Strict Class Stasis and codified Civility/Dignity in order to make sure those Class Lines were never to be crossed.  The EU Model is one of Blood and Genocide. It’s one of Cultural Eradication.  It has been built upon a belief of Divine Blood Lines.  So corrupt was its history that the ‘New Socialist European Model’ appeared attractive by comparison.  Sadly it was just another ploy by a Disenfranchised Aristocracy seeing the Death of the Feudal System that had kept them in place.  (Read the origins of the International Soviet, the London School of Economics, Engels, Hegel, Marx, Plato, Dewey, Lenin and the Fabian Socialists to start.)  And to the delight of that what could have been the former ruling class, aka ‘the rich folks who ran things but were hoisted upon pitch forks’, the population fell for it, all except those in the American Colonies who watched intently what was happening with the European Model and opted out.  I relaize this is a big expanse of time and a cogent argument could be attempted that most of the ‘intellectuals’ associated with Socialism found their fame in the 1800’s.  But the roots of this idea had been laid for hundreds of years prior to what is considered the ‘revolutionary’ period.  (Speaking of famous revolutions… France Tried but chased Equality instead of Liberty and ended up with Members on Mission.  those were the guys hauling the Guillotine from town to town.  Portable Social Justice.)

We, the United States, chose to pursue Freedom and Liberty rather that Civility, Dignity and Equality as the latter three would always require a Divine Administrator to Govern.

We had closely watched the horrors associated with Elitists in Europe telling the Masses what they were Free to do and what they were not Free to do.

We decided we could defend our Individual Freedom and Liberty without a Permanent Class of Ruling Elitist A-Holes deciding for us what we can decide for ourselves…

In the mid 1700’s We opted out of the EU Model.  We determined the act of petitioning the King with gifts in order to win approval for one’s personal choices gave the King too much power.  We opted out of Regressive, Re-packaged, Return to Feudalism that the illusion of Democracy within a nascent Socialist Paradigm promised… but designed intentionally to never deliver.

We said Enough!

…An then dressed up like Indians and threw a Tea Party on a Boat.

Google says… we should get back to that Oppression Stuff!

Let that sink in.

The only aspect of this piece of garbage presentation I admire is the assertion these changes need to be made in order for Google to expand.  Why?  Because it’s the only rational and honest statement made as it embraces the Evil.  The Raw truth this statement represents is the recognition of a very real War going on and between those of us who Believe in Freedom and Liberty of the Individual and Those that Do Not.  So Google is saying if you want to do business with those that Do Not… it’s time to censor, oppress and suppress those that do.   (Historically this leads to the Death and Destruction of the very society these delusional people believe they are promoting.  It’s not Debatable… it’s Demonstrable.  Can you imagine this argument being made today in regards to Slavery?  It’s the same argument… except almost everyone are the Slaves.)

We are here now.  Who would have thought?

Google should start a new marketing campaign; “Forward Oppression!“  I think the ANTIFA-Fascists would just Love it.  (Has anyone else noticed the ANTIFA-Fascist flag is Red, White and Black.  Odd choice of colors… or maybe not.)

So whip off your Tin Foil Propeller Beanie and craft something a bit more elaborate… another Conspiracy Theory has died at the altar of Socialism.  There is still hope for the aluminum clad crowd… 5G is coming.

Googly, Googly… revisited… Facebooky… Facebooky…

How is anyone surprised by the “Big Reveal”, in every entendre imaginable, from Facebook that ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION WAS USED IN A WAY THAT YOU DON’T LIKE… AND THEY TOOK YOUR FRIENDS INFO TOO… BECAUSE YOU LET THEM.

How is the news?

(Update 091113: Yesterday, Google lost a similar decision to the one below.  It was on Appeal before the Ninth Circuit.  The Folks at EPIC are happy… but doesn’t the this story make more sense and a seem little less conspiratorial now that we know the NSA has been collecting all of our data and doing so with the aid of our allies?  Originally Posted 072712)

It’s unclear what, if any, penalties would be imposed on Google by Britain’s ICO or regulators in any of the 10 other jurisdictions in which the company had wrongly retained Street View data.

“We need to take a look at the data… There’s all sorts of questions we need to ask,” an ICO spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity because office rules prohibit him from being named in print.”

The above quote and where I decided to begin and end it may seem a little confusing, but there is a point…

Today we find out that Google has not destroyed/deleted all of the street view info it was caught collecting in Britain. Keep in mind, when I say “street view info” that includes wi-fi networks and names, e-mail addresses and various and sundry other items of information having nothing to do with a street, or the view from it.

Here’s the fun part however… Britain’s regulators, the IOC, are very “upset”. There has been aplenty “tough” language directed at Google for this blatant breach. Yes… they are terribly, terribly upset don’t you know.

While Google has apologized, it is clearly not enough for the IOC.  In all fairness it’s not enough for me either but here’s the punch line; the IOC is demanding to see the information for “forensic analysis”.  Seriously… You Brit’s are Brilliant!  “Yes, yes, I will need to see all the pornography you have so I can determine if it is actually pornography.  I will also need plenty of time to review it… alone…”

So why did I take the above quote from where I did?

Without question Google was harvesting the same information here in the U.S. that it was in Britain.  No doubt about it.  And the U.S. is watching closely what is going on across the pond… very closely.  But why?

If the IOC is successful in gaining access to the Google information for “forensic analysis” because Google has been very, very bad… then U.S. regulators will not be far behind the Google spanking bandwagon.  What red-blooded, privacy cherishing, citizen wouldn’t want Google to be punished for collecting a bunch of info it shouldn’t have?

Well… this one.  If punishing Google requires the government seeing all of the intel, I would prefer Google to get away with it and we can deal with them in the market place.   Think about this for a second, who would you rather have possessing your secrets, a private company answerable to the legal system or a government answerable to no-one?

The monster under my bed has always scared me the most by whispering “don’t worry…  I’m from the government and I’m here to help…”.  Now he’s muttering “googly… googly..” and my parents still don’t believe me.

Your freedom is directly correlated to your ability to live your life anonymously.  If you care.

Apparently, like the rest of the planet, I may just elect to drink myself to sleep.  Unlike the rest of the planet I will only do it late at night… straight from the bottle… in front of a full length mirror… crying…

The NSA violates your rights routinely. 8-9 times a day… every day… and they plan to do it forever.

Have you ever wondered who exactly you should fear in life? Have you spent even a moment considering the possibility that the very people you support might be involved in exactly the behaviors you loath and define as tyrannical? Odd’s are you have.

If you feel a sense of betrayal, you’re not alone.

My life is small… but it was mine.  Now that’s not even true.

The only good that is coming out of these revelations regarding the breadth and depth of our countries Domestic Spying programs are the names and faces of those who condone it.

We are seeing Politicians as well as Business Leaders showing their true colors.

Because you are small… your life is not yours to keep private.

I was having a conversation a couple of days ago with a student from Sweden. He is here pursuing further education and we struck up a dialogue about Von Mises. This lead us , in a round about way, to the collection of data by the NSA.

This young man was understandably upset about the collection of data… when it came to our collecting it on Swedes.

I smiled in understanding.

I explained, however, that really was not the problem. Of course he was dismayed, but I explained that he should worry more about his own government collecting data on Swedes should concern him more. I then went on to explain my belief that the Chinese are most likely collecting data on U.S. Citizens and while American’s should not be happy about such an endeavor, and do everything they can to stop it, I fear it less than my own government doing it to me.

I explained how tyranny and oppression come from within, not from external sources.

In other words, the Chinese will not be kicking in my door because I made some bureaucrat mad down at the Department of Motor Vehicles, or slept with an intelligence officer’s wife, be a member of the “wrong” political party and failed to comprehend then file the correct tax forms, etc. I then went on to cite history’s myriad examples of institutionalized tyranny which was enabled solely on a Governments ability to monitor the speech and actions of its citizenry and administer “punishment” which my not have been condoned but was approved by silence and or intimidation of the population.

Almost to his satisfaction, I finally agreed that our collecting information on the Swede’s should not be looked upon kindly by him and would not expect him to do so.  I feel his pain…

This conversation turned into a discussion about how the United States was founded and why “we” are great.

I made it clear, and he agreed as I knew he would, that “we” are not great because of the individuals making up the United States but rather because of the structure of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

It was how we were set up… not some cosmic accident of our birth.

And that it is this structure that is being destroyed.

(This, of course, will come as surprise to many of our folks here at home just as it did to him hearing an American state it.  It is exactly this surprise that should scare all of us back to our senses.  It is this surprise that seems to be keeping us out of the streets in protest.  It is this surprise that the very leaders a majority of us supported are the very people perpetuating the loss of the only thing we really own… our lives… our privacy… and the knowledge they shall not be infringed upon in any way.)

Well, our Rights ARE being infringed upon.  It’s happening right now… right in front of us…

And, we’re being asked to rest soundly in the knowledge that if there is any “infringing” going on the ones doing the infringing will be sure to let themselves know… maybe… sometimes… occasionally…

And then, boy, they’ll do something about it… maybe… sometimes… occasionally…

But it has to remain secret, of course.

We don’t want the Terrorists to win…

(I suppose it could depend on how you define “win” as I could consider having all of my privacy ripped away at least “place” or “show”.)

Unfortunately, after decades of government education, for too many defense offered by NSA Domestic Spying supporters passes for logic.

The Communist Chinese must be smiling.

It seems we have more in common than we thought.

The Most Brilliant Counter-Intel Op Ever?

No Matter how this exposure of the NSA’s ability to Spy turns out, could it be considered the most brilliant Counter-Terror Operation ever devised?

Where do we stand now?  The entire world is aware that everything they do will be archived by the National Security Agency (No Such Agency) and used to determine their threat to the United States.

In other words, it’s not that their cell phone is compromised…. it’s that EVERYTHING they own, and do, is compromised.

Talk about disrupting the enemies communications, and forcing them to modify their behavior!  Modify it to what, bump passes and one-time pads?

Brilliant!

If there was ever a way to strike fear into the hearts and minds of those who wish you harm, this would be it.  The only way to fertilize that fear would be to tell them we’ve been doing it for a decade… And, we have done that too.

There must be a shortage of Depends in certain Asian Countries right now.

Objectively, there is very little down-side to this Spying except the scouring away of any idea American Citizens might have that they live in a Country which preserves and protects their freedoms.  Just a small detail…

So what’s going on with Clapper et al. coming out of the dark corners to defend it?  As a friend of mine out it; “The NSA does not have a process for Press Releases.”

The real reason the Progressive Elitists among us are out defending the Domestic Spying on the American Public is the fear that the entire operation could fall victim to our outrage.  And, they’re right.

But, public complacency typically wins in the end.  Our track record on caring about the erosion of our rights is dismal.  It is my prediction the NSA will be allowed to continue doing whatever they want.  We might get an “I’m Sorry.”, if we’re lucky.  And, you’ll decide you’re OK with it.

You will keep volunteering your private information for all to see.  It is how you elevate yourself above your friends.  It is how you demonstrate your life is better, or you care more about everything, or you “feel” everything more than anybody who has ever lived.  Your Ego will not allow you to preserve your privacy.  So you will tolerate the Government keeping an electronic file on you, and your friends, and your family… just in case they decide you did something wrong, sometime down the road, or whatever.  (But remember that you are responsible for what you disclose to the world.  You have no right to be upset when you post every detail of your life so 12-year old Chinese Doctoral students can do the same thing we are doing to ourselves, only 12,000 miles away.  But you can’t help yourselves… you think everybody should know who you are.  So don’t be surprised when they do.)

The Onion once had a bit on Facebook being the greatest CIA operation ever devised… were they being funny?  Apparently not.

While public information is… well, public.  It is the stuff that we do not disclose to the public which is being gathered by those who desire our trust.

Let me ask you, how would you feel if you found out your spouse was tapping your phone?  Your parents?  Your neighbor?  How would you feel if your boss was reading your e-mail on your home account?  How would you feel if your kids were auditing your credit card transactions?

So why should we accept that it is OK for the Government to do it?  Are the people behind the computers not our friends, parents, children, neighbors, etc?  The “logic” we are being asked to accept is bizarre in its construction.  The idea there must be “a balance between our security and our rights” is directly out of the Tyrannical Government Handbook.  Our rights come before our security… and we are secure because of those rights.

The only issue here… we should not, can not, must not, allow our own Government to Spy on us.  It is unconstitutional.  The fact that we are doing it to ourselves undermines everything this country was founded on, and thus everything we believe to be true in terms of civil liberties.  If we condone this, we officially have no rights.

In other words, if we do not stand up and demand this Domestic Spying be stopped… immediately, then all bets are off.

And, it may not be tomorrow, next week or next month but there WILL be a time that this country’s security apparatus is used to oppress the population.  This is not up for debate by intelligent individuals with a modicum of historical knowledge.  When you have a specific Ideology which demands Centralized Government and the ability to enforce it, oppression is not as far away as one would like to think.

Examples abound… and contrary to what the average, over-inflated-self-esteem drunk, citizen might think, we are not so different from all the other humans occupying this planet.

But like I started, taken at face value… this “Whistle-Blowing” could actually be the greatest Counter-Terror Operation ever executed.

I’ve always said, “If you’re going to be a Socialist then be the best Socialist you can be.”

Google Can’t Shoot You

… and claim the Patriot Act was on Their side.

So stop trying to justify the NSA’s collection of Citizen’s Personal Data because Google, and others, do it.

Did the Democrats buy information from Google for President Obama’s Election and re-election Campaigns?  Yes, they did.  But it’s not their fault the Republicans were too stupid to make the same investment.  Data Mining is something that should aggravate you when conducted by private companies… like Google, Bing, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, etc…

But it should incense you to the point of demanding jail time for those responsible when Data Mining is conducted by the Federal Government using, unconstitutionally obtained, innocent civilian personal information.  Not only that, the fact that the government is storing every communication prior to a crime being committed should make you want to vomit.

Private companies can do whatever they want… so long as it’s legal… and they are willing to face the public. In other words, the fine folks at Google can be put in jail, or watch their share prices drop at a minimum.

We enjoy NO SUCH RECOURSE when dealing with the government. You cannot sue the Government.  The Government Employees never go to jail.  You can’t put the Government out of business.  The best we ever get is a hearing or two with the promise that “steps have been taken to make sure (whatever you’re complaining about) will not happen again”.  Frankly, We consider ourselves lucky to get an “I’m Sorry.”.

There is a VAST difference between PRIVATE and GOVERNMENT.

We were not founded as a Nation that was supposed to “Trust the Government”.  In fact, our founding documents were specifically designed to limit Government power exactly because Government was not to be trusted… ever.  Never.

Another Argument is; “We’ve been doing this for a long time… almost a decade.  And we haven’t seen a problem…” -Charles Krauthammer.

SO WHAT!?  The U.S. Government has been wasting our money for far longer than they have been Spying on the Entire Nation… so it’s OK?!  Unbelievable.

The last, and latest, argument to try to make you feel okay is; “Judges have signed off on these seizures of data.”  The fact the Eric Holder had to go “judge shopping” until he could find one to sign off on whatever he wanted, particularly the seizing of data from 100 AP reporters, should illustrate what a farce the FISA courts are.  It is not beyond a very simple imagination to think those courts could be stacked with exactly those types of judges.  It is worth noting that reportedly, of the 34,000 requests currently sent to FISA courts only 11 (eleven) have been refused.  Eleven… eleven… holy crap.

I find the reaction, and offered defenses, of what is going on to be astounding, and frightening all at the same time.  As should you.

Grab a pen, and start keeping track of those Politicians, Advisors, Talking Heads and Government Employees who defend such behavior.

You’ll need that list come election time.  You’ll also need a bottle of Bourbon… no glass, it’ll just get in the way.
