So Concerned is the Establishment Wing of the Republican Party that a TEA Party (Uphold the Constitution as it’s Written) Type may get the Nomination for 2016 that they are Preparing to Flood the Field with Primary Candidates.
This is being done in the Hopes of a Repeat of the 2008 Primary where the Open Republican Primaries along the Liberal Establishment Controlled East Coast will give us with the Establishment Nominee… Again. Remember John McCain? I do.
Could this Backfire?
When you’re playing this Game within your own Party… Yes, it could.
If there is no serious Challenger for the Democrat Nomination then the “Cross-Over Vote” could find its way to both Establishment and Libertarian/TEA Party Candidates.
If the Field is too Flooded the Establishment Vote will be Diluted allowing a TEA Party/Libertarian Candidate to move ahead.
In today’s Political Environment the Masses are slightly better educated and much more Cynical of Candidates and their practices talking points designed to lure their votes.
So, yes… it could be a gamble.
But Desperate Times call for Desperate Measures. And the Establishment Republicans are Desperate.
So We’ll be witness to a putting all Your Eggs in an East Coast Basket once again.
