I enjoy the Holidays not just for the Overeating and Drinking too much, but for the News. I know… weird, right?

Well, actually the Holidays offer up the News no one wants you to know. If ‘They’ can’t dump the stories on Weekends when you are not paying attention then ‘They’ shoot for the closest Holiday. And no season offers the length and breadth of your ‘not paying attention’ than Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years. Yeah, the other Holidays are good… but the reigning King remains that time when the old year meets the beginning of the new one.

So if you really like to see what nobody is interested in you seeing, but ‘They’ want to be able to say “We ran That Story!”, scan the news feeds over the last 4-weeks.

You may be amazed.

And you might just join me in my hatred of ‘They’.

Salt will Kill You!

Or, probably not. When you support “consensus” instead of the scientific method you get quotes like this:

 “We’re not saying we shouldn’t be lowering excessive salt intake,” said Brian Strom of the University of Pennsylvania, who led the IOM committee. But below 2,300 milligrams a day, “there is simply a lack of data that shows it is beneficial.” – Institute of Medicine from a CDC Commissioned Study

Actually, the study does not provide any benefit for any level of reduction from average and above average salt intake.  Full Washington Post article here.

(For full disclosure, this has been a pet peeve of mine for almost two decades.  I witnessed my Great Grandmother send herself into low sodium shock, leading to coma, because her friends told her that salt was bad.  She nearly died… and probably would have had she not had regularly scheduled help who noticed she was unresponsive in her bed.  After that incident I decided to explore the harmful nature of salt and found… nothing.  Nothing.  In fact, all I could find was an idea… an idea that salt was bad for you.  This idea seemed to be perpetuated by vegetarian groups and picked up by health magazines and “nutritionists”, and has been repeated for years.  I found it odd regarding the vegetarian groups until someone mentioned to me that salt makes meat very, very tasty… bacon anyone?  What “science” I found employed an unusually high number of words like “seem, might, could, possibly correlates, appears, etc.” without providing direct causation of harmful effects.  The only unequivocal information I discovered was a connection to temporary hypertension… similar to having to urinate… AND the absolute necessity of salt in one’s diet in order for the body and brain to operate correctly.  In other words, we must have salt to live and think, which could explain many of the ridiculous ideas coming from those who keep their salt intake low… but I digress.  This quest of mine started 20 YEARS AGO, and nothing new has popped up until now.  And, what has popped up is what we should already know but doesn’t fit certain folks narrative.)

– So Why reduce your salt intake?

Well, WE just feel like it’s better.  It’s healthier because WE believe it’s healthier and you should be forced to do what WE think is best for You. So just shut up and do what we say.  Dummy.

Oh, and You must also stop eating meat, drinking booze, driving fast, playing your music loud… and other stuff WE don’t like.

Or, Salt the rim of that Margarita and get on with enjoying your life while ignoring all those busy bodies telling you to feel extra bad about everything you like doing.

Actress Attempts to Assassinate the President!

…And Liberal Mayor Michael Bloomberg. – According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Long time Obama Supporter, Shannon Rogers-Guess-Richardson, attempted to kill President Obama and his Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg.

It is suspected she was attempting to frame her Husband, a Veteran and 2nd Amendment supporter.

The Democrat Actress has stated openly her desire to seek divorce from her third husband.  According to her son, the Actress had become extremely careful not to consume food that was not “directly from the store to her hand”.  Not an unreasonable precaution considering ricin was being produced in the home’s kitchen.

My Struggle…

I’m finishing up Mein Kampf in a quest to understand why it seems so difficult for individuals to identify Evil.  I have had to read bit’s and peices of it over my lifetime but never beginning to end.  He named it appropriately whether that was his intention or not.

But to the point.

A common film cliché is the inevitable soliloquy offered by the Evil Mastermind outlining his Evil plan for the benefit of the Hero just prior to the Heroe’s anticipated demise.

This scenario, once identified, becomes genuinely funny.

The basic questions are 1.) Why does it matter? 2.) Why is the speech always to blatantly Evil?

Well, writers have long known that it is difficult for individuals to identify, let alone understand, evil when it is right in front of them.  We seem to have little ability to discern what is good from what is bad unless it is spelled out in the simplest terms.  Blame it on whatever you would like, but my experience is even those who have subscribed to a specific morality still fail to recognize evil when it is present.

My question started with “Why?”.  Why do we not see things for what they are?  Why aren’t Bad Guys so easy to spot?

My past has provided me exposure to Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky, Mao, Mussolini and of course Hitler.  I have added Hussein (Saddam), Galbraith, Keynes and a list of Fabians among others.

Wrapping up Hitlers vision of government built on racial elitism and a hatred of those he perceived to be responsible for all the evil in the world has yet again left me bewildered.  This book was not just some persons perception of Hitler… it was Hitler’s perception of Hitler.  In his own words he defines Evil without seeing it as such.

So why do many of these same ideas come back to haunt us?  Why are we still arguing the benefits of Socialist planning from the likes of Hitler, Marx and Mao?

Frankly its stunning.

The reason the film cliché is funny is because of the overt maliciousness of the bad guy’s plan for the rest of us.  In other words, even He knows it’s mean.  He knows it’s Evil.

The reason we can’t seem to recognize Evil when it’s right in front of us is because the “true believers” honestly think they have the best interests of the world in mind.  The reason Hitler was able to rise to power is exactly because he didn’t see himself as Evil which allowed many Americans and multitudes of others to also not see him as evil… though it was plainly in front of them should they have had the foundation, desire, or both, to assess it.

That’s really what it comes down to.  A lack of a solid foundation built upon a governing theory that does not require force.  Once you have that, the ideas of those with the best of intentions will no longer escape scrutiny.  The Marx and Engels of the world will no longer get a pass from those who consider themselves better educated, superior, enlightened or whatever adjective they choose to save themselves the effort of being intellectually curious… then intellectually honest, that is unless they see the value of these ideas in terms of the power provided to those in charge.  Socialism will always attract those in search of power over others.

I have long said “If your going to be a Socialist, then be the best Socialist you can be.  But know what that means.”  I take this position because I also believe that once you know what that means the majority of us are repulsed and disgusted.  As a single, simple reason I will refer you to Killer of Men.

It will serve you well to understand that our leaders will not identify themselves, or their ideas, as Evil.

They believe they have your best interests in mind when they propose to force you into a world they see as “fair” and “socially just”… as defined by them.

These people whose ideas should be immediately suspect are those who consider themselves the elite.  By their judgement they have attended the right schools, know the right people and know what’s best for you.  They will tell you right up front what they have in mind… until they realize you have no interest in supporting them.  Then they will work in the background to further their ideas.  Their righteousness drives them.  They feel that if you would simply do what you are told the world will be better for it.  The tragic history of those ideas will always be dismissed by a wave of a hand and the statement “They just didn’t do it right.” In reality,  it’s not about “doing it right”, rather it’s their desire for power over others which motivates them.

None of the individuals mentioned at the beginning of this post would have considered themselves Evil… nor would they have subscribed to the idea that any aspect of what they wanted to do could be construed as such.  The same is true of our leaders today… do not expect any one of them to “wake up” and see the Evil of their ways.

The Enlightenment brought us a group of men who saw Evil clearly over 250 years ago.  Because of that they attempted to establish a governing structure which championed the Individual and secured the concept of Private Property.  We are squandering this gift daily by not recognizing those who wish to destroy such a paradigm because it has no room for their ideas, let alone support for their thirst of control over men.

Speaking of thirst, it’s time for a beer.  Franklin was right… “Beer is proof that God loves us.”

The Party of Giving…

…versus The Party of Taking Away.

This is how the Democrats have positioned every argument during the Obama Administration.

The Liberal, Progressive Socialists have worked their way into power by doing nothing more than giving away stuff. They claim this is compassionate… caring. They claim it is “just” and “fair”. They will do anything to claim a moral high ground. But they will purposely never solve any problems.  Which is why President Obama cannot allow respected individuals like Bob Woodward or Wolf Blitzer to remind people the proposed “cuts” were the Presidents idea, and were included in the budget deal at his insistence.  After all, Liberals listen to these media figures… and believe them. It is also why President Obama will not take control, which has been offered by the House Republicans, of what cuts should occur. The Democrat Party, and President Obama, absolutely cannot be seen as taking anything away… ever.  Dependency is what the expect.  And they have been incredibly successful.

Instead of risking they could be labeled as doing the fiscally responsible thing, they will find people who believe their taxpayer-funded employment, or taxpayer-funded unemployment, is a right… an entitlement.  They will put these people in front of a camera whether on their favorite news and opinion shows or your local newscast.  They will let these folks tell you how difficult their lives are… due to the feared, or newly enacted “cuts”.  Nobody will question what their lives were like prior to the “cuts” or whether the “cuts” actually effected them in away way.  There will be no real investigation.  Rather, the dutiful media will nod their collective heads in somber despair over the plight of these individuals.  Keep in mind, the talking heads wont do anything to help them… but they will definitely “feel their pain” and hope that you do too.  It is an important aspect to remember that such people can always be found… everyday… all the time.  But Alinsky teaches us that you never roll them out unless you can create the perception their plight is the responsibility of your enemy.  Only then do you seek them.  Only them do you engage them.  Only then do you showcase them.  Identify the problem (“cuts” to government spending), Freeze it (give it the name “Sequester”), and personalize it (find some “victims” and put them in front of everybody.).

So goes the Liberal Theater of Givers versus Takers.

Didn’t it strike you as strange the reaction from the Left just a few months ago when the Conservatives started identifying themselves as the Makers… and those addicted to government as the Takers?  The screaming could be heard as far as Greece.  This was because the message of Makers vs. Takers was damaging the Progressive Liberal brand.  They cannot allow their identity of the “Givers” diluted in any way.  Certainly not to be replaced by the label of “Taker”.

So as usual, the most effective messaging is discarded by those fiscally responsible for the stuff the Democrats believe is their right to give away… us.  “We just don’t want anyone to think we’re mean…”

Well, this country is self-destructing.  It’s time to get mean.

It’s time to be confrontational.  It’s time to stop wringing our hands and do the adult thing.

It’s time to take things away.  Take away those things that should never have been given… especially by those who had no right to give them.

If they want the Party of Taking things away then we should give it to them.  We have no choice.

When you borrow 46% of every dollar just to pay for what you’ve given away SO FAR you are in deep, deep trouble.  In this respect The End is truly Near… it wont be sudden.  Our current path of demise will be slow and painful… and ugly.

In case you need any more eveidence… You have the Mayor of New York stating openly what I have said for years; that your money is worthless.  His quote was “the United States has an infinite amount of money…”  which is exactly the same thing.  When you have an “infinite” amount of anything it is worthless.  When he goes on to say that lenders will always give us more money to spend… when in truth we, the United States, are buying our own debt through accounting tricks exactly because foreign governments are not lending us more money, we should all be very frightened.  We should be frightened not just by the fact that we are having to play games with the numbers which would land any one of us in jail, but that the Mayor of one of our largest Cities doesn’t see the Evil associated with the fiscal destruction of the United States.

It’s time to stop allowing the word “revenues” to be substituted for “higher taxes”.  It’s time to stop allowing these people to manipulate us through the fabrication of artificial fires and tales of Apocalypse.  It’s time to bring every debate back to the fiscal survival of the United States.  It’s time to cease allowing Leftists to control the language.

It IS a battle between the Makers and the Takers.  There is 47% of the population that pays NO Federal income tax.  Liberals/Progressives/Democrats are, in fact… by definition… Socialists.  Jeffery Immelt of GE and others like him are Fascists.  This is not a “crazy” rant, this is a plain statement of fact.  Words have meaning, and the meaning is there for all those intellectually honest enough to look them up.  Only the ignorant, or those suffuring from denial, can be offended by these terms…

So the only genuine questions we are left with are:

Will someone, somewhere, lose their government job they feel they’re entitled to?  Yes.  Will someone, somewhere, not get the government contract they feel is their right to have?  Yes.

Will these people be able to spin a tale of despair and misfortune?  Yes.  Just as any addict can… and does when his drug is cut off.

We are about to see a flood of people who, whether they recognize it or not, are addicted to government come out and talk about how they will not be able to go on living.

I feel sorry for these folks and wish them a speedy re-entrance into the private sector which is the engine of prosperity driving the freest country on the face of the planet.

I hope all of us are quick to give them sympathy, and just as quick to remind them that they in conjunction with decades of politicians they supported are to blame for their situation.

We must break our populations addiction to “Free” Stuff, or this country is doomed.

Our voices must be loud!  We cannot allow bullies like Chris Mathews, Rachel Maddow, Predient Obama et al. kow us into submission.

Get ready… cuz’ here it comes.

I want my Big Fat Soda!

Largely, Liberal New York Mayor Bloomberg’s ban on soda’s over 16 oz. is a distraction…

But there is a simple lesson here.

Statists see you as fat and stupid… mostly stupid, they see the fat as a consequence.

And, instead of expending the energy to educate you as to what they think is the right way to lead your life… they are going to force you to do what they think is right.

Force… if you can’t Force, then educate… until you can Force.

This will never change.

The idea of “education not legislation” is a time waster and doesn’t codify their desired right to force.  (If you are one of these people who think others should be forced to do what you think is right at any given time and consider yourself a “conservative” then you should spend a long holiday rethinking your philosophical foundation.)

For me it is simple…  Freedom to choose.

I have a rule of thumb definition of “freedom” I’ve used for years:

Being “Free” is being able to make the wrong decision even when you know what the right one is.

Leftists hate this.  It means you can choose not be obedient.  And they blame your hopeless ignorance.  If you were only smarter… you would realize your need to be subjugated in order to be truly happy.

You are stupid today and will be stupid tomorrow.  It doesn’t matter how much you know about anything, ever, not the U.S. Bill of Rights, Constitution, Capitalism, Socialism, The Founding Fathers, Hobbes, Locke, Burke, Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, The Duma, Che, Mao, Members without portfolio, Pol Pot, The French Revolution, Fellow Travelers, The Third Way, Fascists, Viet Cong, Sandinistas, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Anarchists, The Green Party, Right of Return, Castro, Batista, The Middle East, Alinsky etc… (I could keep going but you get the point)

If you’re not doing what you’re told, if you don’t subscribe to their self assessed brilliance, you’re hopelessly ignorant.  Education is futile and choice is dangerous.

So stop thinking they will change.  It’s not your best interest they have in mind, it’s how far they can push you to do what they think is right which is what they are testing.  Create a new law and see if it flies.  If so, create a little more onerous one and see if it flies… so on and so on.

So…

Go out and grab a big gulp… and while you’re at it, buy a pound of raw sugar while you still can.
