One of the great injustices of politics is the repeated behavior of our politicians to judge the actions of soldiers from a chair in Washington, DC. To write terms of engagement and to hold soldiers to the ethics of non-soldiers during wartime makes no sense at all to me.

We train our military personnel to deal with the realities of war and then judge them based on the realities of political opinion. How absurd is that?

What makes a politician think that they know how a soldier should act during war without ever walking in their shoes? What makes an actor or musician think that they know better for that matter?

I’m not a big believer in the ‘walk I their shoes’ before you can make a judgement argument, but I understand your point. Politicians shoilr he of the caliber to make exactly such decisions. Unfortunately we have not cared enough about who vote for.
