Waiting for it to be Over…

So there we were, having a casual morning conversation when my lovely wife said something interesting.

It was brilliant in it’s simplicity.

We had been talking about the Middle East and our current approach to ISIS when she looked at me and said; ‘It’s like he’s waiting for it to be Over.’.

‘He’ is our President… and ‘it’ is his second term in office.

I think your astute wife hit the nail right on the head.

The only question: when did Obama actually hit the resignation (as in resigned to having to go through the motions) phase? Was it when he really started golfing in earnest? Or maybe when he realized what a disaster Obamacare was turning out to be, and he had simply lied and lied and lied and lied again to get it “passed?” (‘Cause I think you might be able to make the case that it’s never actually been passed, what with the fake majorities and everything.) Or might it have been when he stopped getting away squeakiIy cleanly with behavior that would have bounced a Republican at the mere whiff of it?

I think he’s been in “I don’t want to do this anymore” mode for some time now.

Prior to the last election I offered that he didn’t appear to really want to be re-elected. I think the democrats thought Obama Care would have been a much bigger hit than it is… was even at that time… and an Obama loss would have had it’s benefits for their future success. But who will ever know?
