A former White House science advisor speaks out about “settled science”

Hogwash! We Know ALL there is Know about Everything that matters. The Age of Questioning is Over… now is the time to ‘Nudge’ the ignorant Masses into Our Enlightened Future. Sorry… An Enlightened Future… The (?) Enlightened Future… whatever. It won’t Hurt as Much if you just Stop Arguing and do what we say!

As usual, a directly funny and informative post from WUWT. Are you following him? Why Not?

Climate Science Is Not Settled

We are very far from the knowledge needed to make good climate policy, writes leading scientist Steven E. Koonin

The idea that “Climate science is settled” runs through today’s popular and policy discussions. Unfortunately, that claim is misguided. It has not only distorted our public and policy debates on issues related to energy, greenhouse-gas emissions and the environment. But it also has inhibited the scientific and policy discussions that we need to have about our climate future.

My training as a computational physicist—together with a 40-year career of scientific research, advising and management in academia, government and the private sector—has afforded me an extended, up-close perspective on climate science. Detailed technical discussions during the past year with leading climate scientists have given me an even better sense of what we know, and don’t know, about…

Great find, Mike! I read the full thing and it’s eye-opening… if only to help confirm what most of us already know: Much of environmental “science” is a sham; a fraud designed to cause panic and extort money, and the usual — bring leftists to power, and keep them there.

I also read some of the comments, some of which were outside of my technical expertise, but the various premises were very interesting!

One simple truth: Any time anyone says something like “settled science” that should set off the alarm bells. There really is no such thing as “settled science.” “Science” is nothing more than a set of disciplines and protocols that facilitate our ability to observe and measure things in a consistent way, so as to give us a better probability of coming to a correct understanding. Science practically never — if ever — leads to untestable conclusions.
