    The powerless people care.

      Pout… Who are these people?

      And Why are they “Powerless”?

The common people. They are powerless because they have no money to back money controlled politicians. Voting is a joke, apparently when the people speak through voting, those with power decide we don’t know what we want or what is good for us so the mighty powerful ones throw a fit and throw their weight around like a bunch of playground bully’s until they get their way.

I understand why you feel that way about the people you send to office. I feel the same way… which is why I am glad to see folks like Cruz, Lee and Paul putting their foot down on behalf of the American People. It’s unfortunate that it has to be a schoolyard brawl, but we’ve wandered far, far away from the Constitution and protection of Individual Freedom and Liberty, not to mention Privacy. The three branches were designed to fight… all the time. This was constructed purposely in an effort to prevent the Federal Government from doing bad things to us, or at least slow them down. That’s what’s happening now. (It’s also why it has taken the Elitists 100 years to get us to the point. This is serious business.) Your vote matters. If your pessimism overwhelms you, you will find yourself part of the herd and it will only get worse… for all of us.

True, but I thought the fight was already fought and a winner declared.

Well, this government shutdown is apparently about how this Affordable Health care act is a threat to our freedom. However, was it not decided a while back that there was no violation of the Constitution? Wasn’t it given the green light already? I don’t understand either…

No. It was determined that it did not violate the Constitution based on the suit brought against it using the Commerce Clause. Roberts determined it to be a tax… and there was no grounds in that suit to find it unconstitutional as a tax. Those suits are now working their way up through the courts.

But even so, think a bit more about this. The Defense of Marriage Act was “the law of the land” and determined to be constitutional… Slavery, the same. Separate but equal, the same. Women not being allowed to vote, the same.

You are being led to believe that the debate is over…

                  it is not.

You are even being told that Obama was re-elected, so everything he wants he should get.

Well… In the same election the Republicans were given control of the House, in other words the purse strings, so using that logic they should get everything they want.

This is how it’s supposed to work. Slowly… painfully… and hopefully to the benefit of protecting our Freedom and Liberty to choose for ourselves, as individuals, what’s right for us.

It just seems that all the issues surrounding the act should have been resolved before we had to shut down government to resolve it. Why wasn’t it all worked out before now?

Since when have Politicians of any party completed tasks that could be unpopular until they absolutely had to? If it motivates them to do their jobs, all the better.

Do by the hype, shut downs happen all the time… Weekends, Christmas, Snow Days, Hurricanes, Every Imaginable Holiday.

In the end, the only people who should be surprised are those who believed their teachers when they were taught Government is a guaranteed paycheck.

We should be welcoming them to the world the rest of us live in.

Do you get paid retroactively after a forced vacation?

                      I’m guessing “no”.
